About
Hi, I’m Kyle!
It is not a secret that I have a passion for colorwork knitting.
I design patterns, write books, and teach. You might know me from locked floats: a simple rhythm of trapping the unused yarn behind every other stitch in stranded knitting. No long floats to snag, and the back of your work turns into a dense, woven-looking fabric of its own.
Home is Tacoma, WA where I’m slowly turning my yard into my version of an English cottage garden. When I’m not knitting or digging in the dirt, I’m usually on the road to teach. I’ll take any excuse to visit a historic site or antique shop along the way.
At home, my studio assistant is Lily, a sweet rescue cat that will do somersaults (although not on command). She supervises from whatever patch of sun she can find.
