Introduction to Colorwork in the Round
In the workshop we’ll knit the Emeline Hat. A copy of the pattern will be provided in the workshop. Please cast on before you arrive.
Homework
With either of your hat yarns (this will be the brim) and a US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle, CO 132 sts using the German twisted cast-on.
Keep the yarn attached. Do not join in the round or begin the ribbing. We’ll do that together in the workshop.
New to the German twisted cast-on? Here’s how:
Bring to the workshop
- Your cast-on, yarn still attached
- 4 yarns total: 2 for the hat and 2 for the in-workshop swatch
- US 6 (4 mm) 16-inch circular needle
- 11 stitch markers (one unique)
- Your notions bag with the usual tools
