Workshop homework
Knitting Backwards: Stockinette, Ribbing, and Beyond
Two small swatches, so we can start knitting backwards right away. Please complete before the workshop.
Homework
Swatch 1, stockinette: With light-colored worsted-weight yarn and appropriately sized needles, CO 30 sts.
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2: Purl.
Repeat these two rows until the piece measures about 2 inches. Leave the stitches on the needle and keep the yarn attached.
Swatch 2, ribbing: With the same yarn and needles, CO 30 sts. Work k1, p1 ribbing for about 1½ to 2 inches. Leave the stitches on the needle and keep the yarn attached.
Please have all yarn wound and ready to use.
Bring to the workshop
- Both homework swatches, yarn still attached
- Light-colored worsted-weight yarn (smooth wool or wool blend recommended)
- Knitting needles appropriate for the yarn (straight or circular)
- Notebook and pencil
