Stranded Knitting: Unlocking the Secret of Locked Floats
A quick start so we can dive right in. Please complete before the workshop.
Homework
With the darker of your two yarns, CO 40 sts.
Row 1: Purl.
Row 2: Knit.
Row 3: Purl.
Leave the stitches on the needle with the yarn attached, and have both yarns wound and ready to use.
This workshop encourages holding one yarn in each hand (two-handed knitting). If that’s new to you, the video below is a great warm-up.
Bring to the workshop
- Your homework, yarn still attached
- One skein each of 2 colors of worsted-weight yarn (solid, high-contrast wool works best)
- Appropriately sized circular needles (bring a few sizes or an interchangeable set, in case you need a different size)
- Note-taking materials
- Snacks!
- Your knitting bag filled with its usual treasures
