Mosaic Knitting: Exploring Slip-Stitch Colorwork
One quick garter swatch, and we’ll start the mosaic motif together in the workshop. Please complete before the workshop.
Homework
With light-colored worsted-weight yarn and appropriately sized needles, CO 40 sts.
Work 6 rows of garter stitch (knit every row).
Leave the stitches on the needle and keep the yarn attached. Bring your second color of yarn wound and ready to use.
Bring to the workshop
- Your homework swatch, yarn still attached
- Two colors of worsted-weight yarn with strong contrast (smooth wool or wool blend recommended)
- Knitting needles appropriate for the yarn (straight or circular)
- Notebook and pencil
- The usual knitting notions
