Reading Knitting Charts with Confidence
One simple swatch, so we can start working from charts right away. Please complete before the workshop.
Homework
With light-colored worsted-weight yarn and appropriately sized needles, CO 30 sts.
Work 4 rows of garter stitch (knit every row), followed by about 2 inches of stockinette stitch.
Leave the stitches on the needle and keep the yarn attached. Bring 2 to 3 additional colors of yarn, wound and ready to use.
Bring to the workshop
- Your homework swatch, yarn still attached
- 2 to 3 partial balls of worsted-weight yarn in contrasting colors (smooth wool or wool blends recommended)
- Knitting needles appropriate for the yarn (straight or circular)
- Stitch markers
- Notebook and pencil
- The usual knitting notions
