Beautiful Edges: Cast Ons & Bind Offs
Four quick swatches, so workshop time goes to trying new bind offs. Please complete before the workshop.
Homework
Make 4 swatches. For each one, with light-colored worsted-weight yarn and appropriate needles, use your preferred method to cast on 30 sts. Work about 2 inches of stockinette.
Keep the stitches on the needle or place them on a stitch holder, and keep the yarn attached to the work.
Please have all yarn wound and ready to use.
Bring to the workshop
- Your 4 homework swatches, yarn still attached
- Three colors of worsted-weight yarn (high contrast recommended)
- Knitting needles appropriate for the yarn
- A crochet hook similar in size to your needles (for the provisional cast on)
- A small amount of waste yarn
- Scissors, tapestry needle, notebook, and pencil
- The usual knitting notions
